Rich Family Legacy

With strong roots in Georgia and a rich family legacy, Joe Burton Company has thrived for 50 years. Joe Burton, a native Atlantan and a longtime resident of DeKalb County established the company in 1963. He was a graduate of Commercial High and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1942, where he was the lead navigator of his division and was awarded the following:

  • Distinguished Flying Cross

  • Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters

  • Europe-Africa-Middle East ribbon with two stars

After the war, Joe Burton graduated from Georgia Tech in 1949 with a bachelor’s of science degree in industrial management. After serving in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he returned home and held various sales positions before forming the Joe Burton Company, a building specialty sales company. The company was started specializing in Skylights and Tectum Roof Decks, but over the years we have been able to add many other products to continue successful projects for our customers

Ongoing Commitment to Thriving Company

Joe Burton died in 2009, but his family continues to honor his strong commitment to the local community as Joe was extremely active in numerous charitable actions. His son, Lewis Burton, now serves as president of the company.
